For the record, I said yes

Day 7 - Draw a bottle, jar or can from your kitchen.  Well, I do keep this in the kitchen.  We've had it since last September, drank the first 9/10ths of it that night, and the rest has sat in the cupboard above the fridge ever since.  I won't re-write the story here, but it was a very cute life moment.

Can you see the little mini self-portrait hidden in this drawing?

I'm participating in the Penticton En Plein Aire event again this year.  It's tomorrow.  Last year I got there and all the other artists showed up with half finished paintings.  This year I'm being smarter.  I went out to the site I'll be painting at (Elephant Island) and took some photos.  I mapped them out last night onto watercolour paper in a sort of a storyboard layout, and will just do the painting part on site.

Kind of like I've been doing with these colouring book pages.

I feel like a lurker, always enjoying these sketches and never leaving a comment to say so. Love it!

What a fun idea to do "coloring book pages like that"! I sometimes don't want to color and paint my pages because I like the line drawings so much - maybe I should follow your lead on this idea.

I like seeing your sketches, very colorful and alive and fun! Well done!

Thanks, nice to know you're out there!

And yes, Johanna, I feel that way lots of times after doing the line drawings, like I don't want to 'ruin' them. Now when you scan them half way through you get to keep both! I'm doing a piece I have to give away for a fund raiser this weekend, and by scanning the line drawing, I'll be able to keep it and paint another version for myself too.

What a nice and funny story of your engagement....wonderful memory to record in your sketch journal. Great sketch too! I also like how you do the colouring book pages. :)
